U8-U11 AGE GROUP

GET INVOLVED IN TEAM ACTIVITIES

Viikingit ice hockey is a club based in Eastern Helsinki, where it is possible to play ice hockey from hockey schools to adulthood on both hobby and competition tracks. Viikingit operates every age group from u8 (under 8 year olds) to u20 (under 20 year olds).

The main location for Viikingit is the Vuosaari ice rink, where our teams have their own equipment storage and sports facilities. We also operate partly in the nearby ice arenas.

The u8–u11 age groups have events 3-5 times a week, consisting of off ice practise (basic exercise skills), ice practises (sports skills and game skills) and games played (games are mainly played in nearby ice rinks). In our operations, we also consider it important to coach matters related to individual growth and working in a group.

You can join our age groups in the children's stages with a low threshold and girls and boys are welcome to join our activities, regardless of previous experience.

 

ICE HOCKEY SCHOOL

AT VUOSAARI ICE RINK

The hockey schools are held on Sundays at the Vuosaari ice hall. 

A child can participate in 1) child and adult skating (from 10:30 am to 11:30 am), where basic skating skills are learned together with their adult 2) join the Leijona (lion) hockey school (from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm), where hockey techniques and game skills are practiced in small groups 3) join the girls' own hockey school or girls' practice sessions (from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm), where girls can practice their hockey skills. During the practices, guidance is provided by the Viikinki coaches.
